In Prof. Shen's Lab, researchers have the opportunity to engage in interdisciplinary projects within a collaborative, stimulating, and supportive environment. The lab offers ample resources for success, including state-of-the-art equipment, easy access to departmental facilities, international collaboration and exchange, and financial support. Members will develop strong oral and written communication skills by presenting their research at professional conferences, informal meetings, and in top peer-reviewed journals.

Postdoctoral Fellows (Rolling Basis Recruitment)

Fully funded postdoctoral positions are available in our group. We welcome motivated individuals with a background in materials science to apply. Applicants with a background in synthetic inorganic chemistry, catalysis, quantum materials, and/or computational materials science are highly preferred. Please contact Prof. Shen by email with a cover letter, CV, and contact information of references.

Ph.D. Students (starting as early as Fall 2026)

Fully funded Ph.D. openings are available in our group. Applicants with strong interests and background in broadly defined materials science or chemistry are encouraged to contact Prof. Shen with their CVs and transcripts for potential enrollment in 2026.

For applicants whose previous degree was not taught in English, proof of English proficiency is required (TOEFL iBT ≥ 79 or IELTS ≥ 6.5 or CET6 ≥ 490).
